The Village of Bourbonnais has announced the return of its Holiday Homes & Holly Jolly Lighting Contest for a sixth year. The event invites residents to decorate their homes and yards for the holiday season, aiming to foster community spirit and creativity.

An interactive online map will display participating addresses from December 5 through December 25. Residents can choose to enter the “Holly Jolly Lighting Contest” or be listed as a “Holiday Home” on the tour map.

“Last year’s online map drew over 26,000 views, and our community cast more than 4,000 votes for their favorite displays,” said Lindy Casey, Marketing & Public Engagement Director. “It’s fun. It’s festive. And it’s free.”

There are two contest categories: Traditional, which is judged by an external panel, and People’s Choice, which is decided by public voting on the Village of Bourbonnais Facebook page between December 5 and December 14.

Winners will be notified and announced after voting ends.

Registration is open until Monday, December 1 at 4:30 p.m., and residents can sign up either online at villageofbourbonnais.com or in person at the Village Administration Office at 600 Main St. NW during business hours.
