Ascension’s Clinical Innovation Institute is working to advance digital transformation in healthcare delivery. The organization has implemented digital nudges that are changing how patients and clinicians interact, aiming to improve care outcomes.

According to Ascension, these digital reminders have led to a 20% increase in patients following through on primary care needs. The approach has also contributed to a 17% decrease in missed appointments and cancellations, as well as a modest rise of 2% in the net promoter score, which measures patient satisfaction.

The use of these digital tools allows Ascension to identify which visits may be handled virtually and helps prepare and follow up with surgery patients using new technology. The organization states that these efforts are part of its ongoing commitment to innovative, patient-centered care.

"Through digital nudges, patients and clinicians are engaging in new ways that improve outcomes. These nudges have been associated with a 20% increase in follow-through on primary care needs, a 17% reduction in no-shows and cancellations and a 2% rise in net promoter score increase," Ascension said.

With these strategies, Ascension aims to make healthcare more personalized and connected for both patients and providers.
