The Village of Bourbonnais is set to host the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival, marking its 50th anniversary from Wednesday, June 25 through Sunday, June 29 at The Grove at Goselin Park. This year’s festival coincides with the Village’s Sesquicentennial, celebrating 150 years since its founding. The festival originally began as part of the Village's Centennial celebration.

In preparation for this community event, temporary road closures will be implemented:

Starting Sunday, June 22, William R. Latham Sr. Drive will be closed from Main Street NW (IL Route 102) to Plum Creek Drive. Plum Creek Drive will also be closed from William R. Latham Sr. Drive to Briarcliff Lane. Both roads are expected to reopen by Monday, June 30.

On Friday, June 27, during the Children’s Parade, Main Street NW (IL Route 102) will be closed from Marsile Street to William R. Latham Sr. Drive between approximately 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

For the Grand Parade on Sunday, June 29, University Avenue from Ward Field to S. Main Street (US Route 45/52) will be closed along with S. Main Street northbound to Main Street NW (IL Route 102). Additionally, Main Street NW (IL Route 102) will be closed from S. Main Street to William R. Latham Sr. Drive between approximately 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., following a new route due to construction at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School.

The festival promises activities for all ages including carnival rides, food vendors, live entertainment, a 5K run/walk event, a fishing derby, fireworks display and the annual fish fry fundraiser organized by the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District.
