The Village of Bourbonnais has announced the kickoff event for its Sesquicentennial celebration, marking 150 years since its incorporation in 1875. Throughout 2025, residents can look forward to a variety of special events.

Originally intended as a formal outdoor gala, the event has been reimagined as "Hooray, Bourbonnais!" This inclusive celebration will be open to the public and is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Grove at Goselin Park located at 700 Main St. NW.

The festivities will include a free live concert by Spoken Four, which is part of the Maggie Speaks band. Additionally, there will be a cash bar provided by Flight 102 Whiskey & Wine Bar and catered cuisine available for purchase from Crème of the Crop food truck.

Lindy Casey, Marketing & Public Engagement Manager for Bourbonnais, invites local businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring any Sesquicentennial events to get in touch. She can be reached at 815-937-3570 or via email.

Other planned Sesquicentennial events include an outdoor concert during the Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest, a Family Fun Day, and a French Heritage Weekend among others.
