The Village of Bourbonnais has announced its lineup of summer events for 2025 at The Grove at Goselin Park, located at 700 Main St. NW. The activities, ranging from food trucks and live music to yoga sessions and movies under the stars, aim to cater to people of all ages throughout June.
The splash pad is now open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., providing a way for visitors to cool off during the summer months.
"Lunchtime Bites & Beats" on Festival Street will start on Wednesday, June 4, and continue every Wednesday until September from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy lunch from two rotating food trucks while listening to live acoustic performances each week. This week's offerings include Cousins Maine Lobster and MiaBella’s Pizza with music by Shelby Ryan.
Yoga enthusiasts can participate in "Yoga in the Park," returning every Saturday in June with Soul Moon Studio. Sessions are held at Cavalier de LaSalle Park starting Saturday, June 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., welcoming participants of all levels who bring their own mats, towels, and water.
A new initiative called "Unplug & Play" will debut on Sunday, June 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., encouraging families and neighbors to engage in lawn games and outdoor activities without screens.
On Thursday, June 12, "Movie on the Green" will feature Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2. Food vendors like MiaBella’s Pizza and Cakes & Goodies will serve attendees starting at 6:00 p.m., with the movie beginning at 7:00 p.m.
"Cone with a Cop" offers an opportunity for community interaction on Friday, June 13, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., where visitors can enjoy a free small cone at Dairy Queen (121 S. Main St.) while meeting officers from the Bourbonnais Police Department. Donations collected will support the Back-to-School Shop with a Cop program.
The unofficial kickoff for summer combines Bourbonnais’ celebration of its "150th Anniversary meets [the] Friendship Festival's [50th Anniversary]." From Wednesday, June 25 through Sunday, June 29, residents can partake in carnival rides, parades including children's parade and grand parade; as well as other festivities such as fireworks displays; live entertainment; fishing derby; fire department fish fry fundraiser among others over five days packed full schedule available online."
