Denise R. Fitzgibbon, 68, Remembered for Her Passion for Family and Creative Hobbies

Denise R. Fitzgibbon, age 68, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was born on September 2, 1956, in Kankakee, the daughter of Mileage and Barbara Smith Cavins.

Denise married Robert Fitzgibbon on May 20, 1989, in Aroma Park. Following Robert’s passing on April 28, 2005, Denise found joy in various hobbies and spending precious moments with her family. She worked at ZipPak in Manteno.

An individual with a creative spirit, Denise enjoyed photography, woodworking, and traveling. She found solace and entertainment in going to the movies and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving Denise are her two sons, Aaron (Gina) Fitzgibbon of Manhattan, Kansas, and Sean (Sharon) Waugh of Bourbonnais; her daughter, Amber (Joshua) Hanson of Ashkum; sister Debbie (Steven) Ruebensam of Bradley; and her grandchildren, Abigail Hanson, Addisyn Hanson, and Caleb Waugh. Denise was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A visitation in memory of Denise will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Private family burial will take place at Aroma Park Cemetery in Aroma Township. Memorials for Denise may be directed to support the family's wishes.
