Leo G. Salinas, 69, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Aperion Care of Wilmington. Born on December 6, 1955, in Brownsville, TX, Leo was the son of Emilio and Angelita (Garcia) Salinas. On June 20, 1981, he married Charlene Anders at the Kankakee County Courthouse.

Leo dedicated forty-four years to working in logistics, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment. He found joy in woodworking and carpentry, using his skills to create beautiful pieces. An outdoorsman and proficient hunter, Leo cherished the time spent in nature. He had a passion for watching classic movies, particularly westerns and old Hollywood films. Leo enjoyed antiquing and exploring flea markets, always on the lookout for hidden treasures.

A loving family man, Leo found the greatest happiness in taking care of his grandchildren. His devotion to his family was evident in all his actions. Leo was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Leo is survived by his wife Charlene; children David (Christene) Salinas and Lindsey (Daniel) Stenlund; siblings Mary Salinas, Oscar (Lisa) Salinas, Bobby Salinas, and Roy (Stacie) Salinas; grandchildren Jack and Beau Salinas, McKenzie, Adelyn, and Kayden Stenlund; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Emilio Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley at Noon. Cremation rites will be accorded following the Mass. In memory of Leo, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Leo G. Salinas will be remembered for his talents as a skilled craftsman, his love for his family, and his dedication to providing care and support to his loved ones.
