Edwin G. Fritz, a Kankakee resident, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the age of 96 surrounded by his family. Born on October 23, 1929, in Buckingham, Edwin served in the United States Army in Korea and later retired as a foreman from Kroehler Manufacturing. He also owned and operated Fritz Upholstery for over 50 years. Edwin enjoyed fishing, hunting, cards, golf, and gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He was a parishioner of St. John Paul II. Edwin is survived by his children, sister, brother, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and extended family. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home with the funeral Mass on Friday, October 31, 2025, at St. John Paul II. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Ray Olley Memorial Project or Kankakee Veterans Administration Commission.
