The Village of Bourbonnais will host its fifth annual Food Truck Fest on Saturday, August 16, from noon to 10 p.m. The event, presented by Brandon Casey’s Comfort Crew, will take place at The Grove in Goselin Park at 700 Main St. NW. This year’s festival marks a milestone as it celebrates the village’s Sesquicentennial.
The Food Truck Fest has expanded to feature more than 20 food trucks offering a variety of options for attendees. Vendors include Avocado Theory, Bamboo Island Snack Shack, BrickStone Brewery, Chick-fil-A, Cousins Maine Lobster, and several others.
A highlight of this year’s event is a free concert celebrating the village's 150th anniversary. Maggie Speaks will perform alongside national celebrity entertainers from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with tributes spanning multiple decades: Barrington ‘Bo’ Henderson and Glenn Leonard (former lead singers of The Temptations) representing the '60s; John Elefante (former lead singer of Kansas) for the '70s; Mickey Thomas (lead singer of Starship) for the '80s; and Zach Goode (lead singer of Smash Mouth) for the '90s.
Admission and parking remain free due to support from sponsors such as Brandon Casey’s Comfort Crew, Belson Steel Center Scrap, Collective Balance Counseling, BrickStone Brewery, Bank of Bourbonnais, ComEd & Glade Plumbing & Piping Co., and other local businesses.
From 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., families can participate in activities at the kidz zone including traditional games like three-legged races and potato sack races as well as facepainting and contests.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone to the fifth annual Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest and celebrating 150 years of community with our community,” said Bourbonnais Mayor, Jeff Keast.
“We appreciate the Village of Bourbonnais team, all of the event sponsors and volunteers for their support in making this a free experience.”
The event will proceed rain or shine. Limited seating is available for outdoor eating and entertainment viewing; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Outside coolers are not allowed.
