Ascension has announced an agreement to acquire AMSURG, a move aimed at expanding its care delivery network. This acquisition will add over 250 ambulatory surgery centers across 34 states to Ascension’s portfolio, enhancing its ability to offer outpatient care.
AMSURG is known for its expertise in developing and managing ambulatory surgery centers, specializing in services like gastroenterology and ophthalmology. Eduardo Conrado, President of Ascension, highlighted the shift from inpatient to outpatient care as a nationwide trend. "By investing in AMSURG’s strong ASC network, we are proactively responding to this transformation," he said.
