Rebecca "Becky" Sue Elam | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Bourbonnais - Rebecca "Becky" Sue Elam, 72, passed away on June 9, 2025, after bravely battling Multiple Sclerosis. Born on May 11, 1953, to Warden and Ruth (Milk) Elam, Becky was beloved as a fun-loving aunt and a source of love, laughter, and strength to many. She is survived by her sisters Cindy Elam and Marlene (Daryle) Albers; brothers Russ (Betsy) Elam and Glenn (Vicki) Elam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky's indomitable spirit shone through her determination to live fully regardless of her illness. A radiant presence, she brought joy with her infectious laugh, shoulder shrug, and signature smile. Known for her culinary talents, Becky's homemade dishes, especially her garlic-laden spaghetti, were always a hit. She took pleasure in classic films, music, playing the harmonica, and testing her knowledge with Jeopardy. Her love for animals, particularly her dogs Abby and Annie, and her passion for travel were evident in the joy she found in life's experiences.

Remembered lovingly by her family and special friends, Becky was preceded in death by her husband Michael Patchett, parents, brothers Richard and Lee Elam, and nephew Matthew Elam. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Miller for their care and to Dr. Thomas and Dr. Abraham for their support.

A visitation and service in honor of Becky will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes in Bourbonnais. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Valley Animal Rescue or family wishes. Becky will be deeply missed and remembered for her enduring love and spirit.
