Longtime Kankakee Resident Passes Away at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital

Erik C. Young, 53, of Kankakee, died at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital on the morning of Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born on October 22, 1971, in Kankakee, Erik worked as a Quality Technician for Federal Signal. He is survived by his wife, Heather Young, and their children Quincy, Milo, and Adelaide. Erik's visitation will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with a funeral service scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Kankakee. Interment will follow at Mound Grove Gardens.
