Richard A. Starkey, 66, Remembered for Love of Family and Gardening

Richard A. Starkey, aged 66, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at his home. Born on September 6, 1958, in Chicago Heights to Chester and Norma Starkey, he married Bobbi Brunson in 1990 in Norfolk, VA. Richard served in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate MM1, retiring as a NC1. He was dedicated to caring for his wife and four daughters, and enjoyed camping and horticulture, especially tending to his lawn.

Survived by wife Bobbi Starkey, daughters Ahnjene Boleyn, Annelise Schnase, Jessica Wright, Jaime Starkey, sisters Alice and Jackie, brother Bill, grandchildren Simone, Camilla, Deaglan, Jacquelyn “Gigi”, Lochlan, Kobe, and Karson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by parents and brother Patrick Starkey. Cremation rites have been observed. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with military rites at 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
