The Village of Bourbonnais, in collaboration with the Kankakee County Community Arts Council, is set to introduce a new holiday event called Miracle at The Grove. This festive occasion will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Grove at Goselin Park, located at 700 Main St. NW.
Attendees can explore the Miracle Market featuring 30 vendors offering unique and handcrafted items. Alongside shopping, visitors can enjoy ice skating near the Village's 20-foot Christmas tree while listening to live carols performed by local groups. Food truck row will provide seasonal cuisine options, and warm beverages will be available around firepits and outdoor heaters. Additionally, there will be free photo opportunities with Santa Claus, his elf, and a real reindeer named 'Merry.'
For those who prefer indoor activities, the Community Room in the Bourbonnais Municipal Center will function as a warming center with free face painting and coloring activities.
The event schedule includes various attractions throughout the day:
- From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., attendees can visit the Miracle Market, enjoy synthetic ice skating at The Rink, participate in coloring activities in the Community Room, and savor warm beverages from BrickStone Brewery.
- Food Truck Row will feature offerings from Bennett-Curtis House, Drew’s Dogs, Fare & Square Food Truck, and Sweet Darren’s during the same hours.
- 'Merry' the Reindeer will be available for meet-and-greet sessions from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
- Carols by River Valley Choral Ensemble are scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
- Free photos with Santa and his elf are offered between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
- BBCHS Vocal Pointe Jazz Choir will perform carols from noon to 12:45 p.m., followed by Kankakee Valley Theatre Association from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
- Additional activities include Santa sleigh rides and face painting by BBCHS Arts Honor Society between noon and 2:00 p.m., along with historic tours of Letourneau Home Museum and the Log Schoolhouse conducted by Bourbonnais Grove Historical Society from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
