A graduate of Westview High School in Kankakee and Illinois Wesleyan University, Dr. Krause obtained his dental degree from Northwestern University in 1982, exemplifying a commitment to professionalism and education. He was a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais and engaged in missionary dental work in the Galapagos Islands, extending charitable service to children and those in need.
Survived by his wife, Delores of Bourbonnais, son Ryan Krause, daughters Emily Krause and Dr. Laurie (Hymie) Gauthier, brother Dr. David (Rebecca) Krause of Bourbonnais, and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and son Andrew Krause.
A member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, the Kiwanis Club of Kankakee, Kankakee County Dental Society, and the American Dental Association, Dr. Krause served on the attending staff at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital and Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation and service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais. Cremation rites will follow the service, with arrangements by Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes in Bourbonnais. Donations may be made to family wishes in remembrance of Dr. Donald E. Krause through the Sympathy Store.
