A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carol was a blessing to her family, known for her deep religious faith and resilience in facing life's challenges. She was a committed supporter of various charities and brought joy to nursing home residents with her visits, conversations, and treats. Carol enjoyed needlework, had a green thumb, and cherished her love for dogs, especially Snoopy. She was a parishioner at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Survived by her sons Michael (Jayne) Raef of Bourbonnais and Mark (Joy) Raef of Martinton, daughters Charlotte Raef of Aurora, and Jean (John) Baxter of Bourbonnais, sister-in-law Patricia St. John of Kankakee, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, brother Joseph, sister Josette Quigley, and daughter Mary Kent.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.
