The Village of Bourbonnais has announced that its splash pad at The Grove at Goselin Park, located at 700 Main St. NW, will remain open through Sunday, September 22.
This free outdoor amenity is available to the public daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
“The splash pad has been a popular attraction for families this summer and there is still some beautiful weather remaining this month,” explained Mayor Paul Schore. “We want to make sure residents have every opportunity to utilize this free seasonal feature.”
The splash pad is a key component of the village’s premier 12.5-acre all-season cultural, recreational, and economic hub in the heart of Bourbonnais. The Grove opened to the public for the 49th annual Bourbonnais Friendship Festival from June 26-30, with the launch of the splash pad on July 4.
Additional features of The Grove include a two-sided state-of-the-art performance stage, a village green event lawn with a 12-foot viewing hill that will transform into a sledding hill during winter months, a picturesque Festival Street pedestrian walkway, interconnected walking paths, casual sitting areas with firepits, a concession stand, covered pavilion and soon-to-be-added modern ADA-friendly playground and revitalized Children’s Safety Center.
The Grove project was developed with input from over 3,000 residents who participated in the master planning process for this community improvement initiative which began in the fall of 2019.
