Garnette Catherine Delaney, of Manteno, died at her home on Monday, November 11, surrounded by family. Born on February 27, 1951, in Chicago to Jean and William Delaney, she is survived by her life partner James Broder, daughter Erin, grandchildren Aidan, Makayla, and Emmett Steffan, bonus daughter Jackie, granddaughter Luna Mae Myers, siblings Patrick, David, Thomas, Robert, Nancy, and Mark, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Delaney was a graduate of St. Anne's School of Nursing and worked as an emergency room nurse at Mt Sinai and South Shore Hospitals in Chicago. Fond of family, Irish music, shopping, baking, traveling, and celebrating Christmas, she cherished time with loved ones. Predeceased by her parents and brother William. A wake will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Clancy Gernon in Bourbonnais, with a funeral Mass on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
