Bradley-Bourbonnais District 307 voters approved a facility bond referendum during the November 5 election, granting $62 million in bonds. This funding will be supplemented by $8 million from the high school's operating budget, totaling $70 million for facility improvements throughout the district.
According to Superintendent Dr. Matt Vosberg, "I'm proud to be part of a community with such strong pride in its school district." He said that the passage of this referendum will enable the district to enhance safety and security, eliminate portable classrooms, renovate current gyms to include STEM rooms, science labs, new cafeteria spaces, and centralize physical education spaces. Additional upgrades will involve adding a fieldhouse for extra courts and pool observation.
The referendum will also facilitate relocating and improving the library and adding 15 new classrooms. Furthermore, it will allow for additional nurse's spaces.
BBCHS officials believe these enhancements will help maintain an outstanding educational environment for both current students and future generations.
